The Aptilo Service Portal (SPA) complements the Aptilo Service Management Platform (SMP) by being the main tool for automatic processing and display of data output from the provided service; including storage of usage information and events, aggregated statistics and monitoring data.
The Aptilo Service Portal can offer tailored information to multiple groups of users, serving each user with the correct subset of information, through a dedicated Venue Portal. Login accounts can be created for users such as network administrators, operators, customer support personnel, managers, market analysts, roaming partners and venue owners.
Key Features
Monitoring: The monitoring functionality in the Aptilo Service Portal provides tools for viewing the status of the complete hotspot network, including not only the Aptilo solution components but also other network elements such as routers and switches. Also the status of critical processes, such as links to external systems, can be included.
The monitoring functionality in the Aptilo Service Platform consists of five main parts:
- Node Monitoring
- Alarm Collection
- Tree Display of Network Status
- Status History Logs
- Status Reports
Service Reporting & Statistics: This area of functionality of the Aptilo Service Portal aims at satisfying the needs of both the network operating department and business related users. Both groups require a combination of detailed information, generated reports and diagrams.
The statistics functionality in the Aptilo Service Portal consists of these main components:
- Collection and database storage of usage data records from Aptilo Service Management Platforms, incl. sessions, payments and other events
- Search and display functionality of usage data records
- Collection of statistics directly from the Aptilo Access Controllers (e.g. ongoing sessions and used bandwidth) or from 3rd party access gateways
- Graphical presentation of statistics
The Report generator produces standard reports and allows the possibility to add tailor-made customer-specific reports. The configuration of the report generator is highly flexible to cater for the unique needs of portal users in the best possible way. The administrator can choose from a choice of pre-configured report types; define time interval and the form of presentation.
Reliability: The Aptilo SPA runs on reliable standard hardware and Linux OS based software. This ensures high performance, scalability and reliability for the service provider.
