PowerDsine 8006/8012/8001 are Power over Ethernet midspans which enable a unified supply of data, voice, video and power through a single access point by sending power over standard Category 5 and above twisted pair cable.

The PowerDsine 8012/8006/8001 High Power over Ethernet midspans sit in tandem to an existing Ethernet or Fast Ethernet switch and connects to standard Category 5 and above infrastructure. This architecture protects customer's investments both in Category 5 and above infrastructure and in Ethernet switch equipment.

Remote Power Feeding - PowerDsine 8012/8006/8001 Midspans (PoE injectors) eliminate the need for external power supply and its associated AC/DC power cabling, thus providing a highly cost-effective, safe and relible means for remote powering of terminals with high and non-standard high power consumption, such as Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) Network Cameras, Multi Channel Wireless LAN Access Points and RFID Readers.
Keep the Existing Infrastructure - PowerDsine 8012/8006/8001 High Power over Ethernet Midspan family connects to an existing Ethernet infrastructure via standard category 5/5e/6 cabling, and delivers on four pairs, up to 39W power thus enabling the upgrade of the network to PoE while keeping the existing switch. PowerDsine PD-AS-801 Active Splitter may be installed where an end terminal is not standard-compliant.
Scalable Solution - The PowerDsine 8012/8006/8001 High Power midspans (PoE injectors) support one, six or twelve Ethernet terminals. Multiple midspans can be mounted in a wiring closet to support additional terminals, resulting in a simple, cost effective method for expanding the network, as requirements evolve.
Centralized Power Distribution - PowerDsine 8012/8006/8001 Midspans provide a cost-effective way to distribute power and ensure uninterrupted operation of the network during electrical power failure, when connected with a centeral UPS.

Easy Integration - The 8012/8006/8001 High Power Midspans can be installed in conjuction with the PowerDsine PD-AS-801 Active Splitter providing Power over Ethernet technology to legacy equipment with high power consumption, such as PTZ cameras, without making any modifications to the terminals.
Easy to Install - The 8012/8006/8001 Midspans are plug-and-play products, which minimize the disruption to the work place. Once turned on, the Midspans automatically detect all PoE terminals and supply power over the Ethernet infrastructure.
Concise LED Displays - Real-time network monitoring through the front panel, includes a bi-color, per-port LED, indicating normal, overload or short-circuit conditions.
Power Management - PowerDsine 8012/8006/8001 Midspans offer an advanced power management algorithm which controls the output power per port in the event of limited available power, and saves costs by improving the cooling and UPS sizing considerations in the communication room.
