Very good product - configures straight away off of the Ubiquiti Unifi controller software.

My only issue after initally configuring it was to integrate it as a more central switch in a hotel network with private and guest subnets, with some physical separation and some shared physical infrastructure with VLANs, made more complex by the fact that the controller software was also hosting APs and a guest portal on the guest segment - every time I moved the switch it to its target position the controller lost communication with it.

After a quick "RTFM" to get to the bottom of the very powerful way the controller and switch refer to native networks and VLANs (and how this relates to the tagged and non-tagged), plus the fact that after intial configuration you can tell it you are managing it over other than the default LAN, and it all started working very nicely.

One minor irritation is that some parts of the controller seem to know what a device name is, and other parts present as only a MAC address, and IP addresses only seem to be noted against Unifi devices, but this is probably more a controller issue than the device itself (and it may be this would be better if I leased IP addresses from the controller and not my upstream firewall which is not a Ubnt device).
